Edward van den Boorn started his career in (inter-) national Executive Search in 1997. As a "Trusted Advisor", he studies developments within related, vertical market segments and advises his clients in a proactive, honest and committed manner. Organizational structure and culture, business transformation, innovation, technology and rationalization are central topics for discussion, in relation to classical and modern leadership themes.


Edward identifies professionals and leaders based on a thorough research process and analysis. He invites candidates for an interview, informs them and, in consultation, presents them. His clients require inspiring professionals who can act as a change agent from a sustainable and responsible leadership perspective. Professionals who can lead multiform and complex organizations at times of transition and uncertainty. Leaders who are able to assess, serve and manage the interests of a large group of stakeholders, and who can connect people, organization and society/market. Edward's (inter-) national clients often interact at the interface of the public, private and political domain.


Edward prefers to put teams together from a coherent diversity perspective. Placing and assessing the candidacy of individuals within the cultural and organizational context is distinctive and determines the success of the individual, the team and the organization. In addition to the obvious necessity to appoint "the right person, in the right place, at the right time", for Edward the facilitating and guiding of the qualitative decision-making process by the customer's DMU, is key. He also monitors both the interests of the client and the candidates. According to Edward, the candidate makes the right and valuable next career step if he or she - also in the long term - develops both personally and professionally and it brings them to a next level. The true value creation by, and the success of, executive search is context and culture bound. It must be capable of managing the right expectations of two partners entering into a long-term partnership. Edward is proud of his contribution to the number of successful female appointments within the management boards and supervisory boards of his clients.


Edward studied Political Sciences at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. He graduated in 1990 on Labour Relations, Labour Law, Socio-economic Development within European Welfare States, Political Theory and Philosophy of Science. During his studies he was co-founder and Secretary of "Areapagos", the student association for Political Science and Public Administration & Policy Sciences. He held various administrative roles.


Edward joined Capita Selecta as a Partner in February 2019, to contribute to the positioning and growth of the company in those segments in which he has specialized in more than twenty years.
